Andrea Giacobbe was born and grew up in Florence and has since lived and worked in various countries including the United States, France, and the UK.
Since the early nineties, he has published independently produced photographic work in various international magazines including The Face, Citizen K, Spin, Dazed & Confused, Marie Claire, Ray Gun, The New York Times Magazine, Photo, Arena and Flaunt. His photography has appeared as fashion spreads, magazine covers, celebrity portraiture and advertising campaigns, producing memorable portraits of music performers such as Bjork, Beck, Marilyn Manson, The Chemical Brothers, etc., and a number of international print campaigns for clients such as Diesel, Nike, Goldman & Sachs, Danone and Faberge.
Andrea's directorial debut came in 1995, when the European art/culture television channel ARTE commissioned him to write and direct a one-minute short film, which has been broadcast weekly over the past twelve years in the program "Tracks". During the next five years, Andrea wrote and directed a number of award-winning music videos and a string of commercials for clients including Evian, Sony Erickson, Nestle', Vichy, Coca Cola and Danone.
His first short fiction film, Mr. Logo, produced by Quad Productions is released in January 2008.
He is now based in Paris where he continues his work as a filmmaker and photographer.
